WayFinder Logistics is a fast-growing, third-party logistics (3PL) company offering freight brokerage (non-asset-based transportation) services, including intermodal, rail, truckload and LTL brokerage, transportation management and international services.

WayFinder seeks a personable and highly organized Carrier Account Manager professional to join our team.

As a Carrier Account Manager, you'll be focused on developing relationships with new and existing carrier (trucking companies) accounts.

Your role will provide vast exposure to the logistics industry, account management, and sales; while also strengthening your ability to conduct business over the phone.

You'll be heavily involved in quoting transportation costs, negotiating pricing in a fast-paced brokerage format, and creating solutions for a wide range of logístical challenges.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • N/A
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct business over the phone, interacting with truck drivers, trucking company owners, and truck dispatchers
  • Negotiation with carriers on pricing relative to market trends
  • Drive revenue growth through carrier account management
  • Vetting new business opportunities and carrier selection for existing business
  • Carrier price and capacity documentation for collaborative team communication
  • Contribute ideas to shape process improvement and company growth
  • Act as carrier escalation point to assist with the resolution of any open issues
  • Ability to independently vet and onboard new carriers
  • DAT posting and unposting of assigned shipments
  • Regular usage of alternate posting strategies
  • Ability to independently resolve moderate carrier confrontations
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong communications skills with a positive and engaging personality
  • Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday, with mínimal afterhours responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and social interaction skill sets
  • Positive attitude and ability to selfmotivate, as well as, selfmanage
  • Knowledge or interest in freight brokerage, transportation modes, and customer service
  • Ability to evaluate current market conditions and rates for FTL, LTL, Refer, Partials, in real time
  • Ability to learn major shipping corridors and carrier rates along these lanes
  • Prior experience with a transportation management system (TMS)
  • Well organized and ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Comprehension of analytical reports to better familiarize with trends, markets, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, within a team setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics (carrier experience strongly preferred)
  • College degree strongly preferred
  • A blend of education and applied work experience may be considered

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
