- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Ability to have multiple assignments going at the same time.
- Positions parts and subassemblies in a neat orderly manner for each assignment.
- Builds product to current documentation. Consult senior technicians when there are questions/concerns about the build.
- Assembles assignments by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies together in proper sequence with the correct hardware.
- Verifies finalized product to specs and functionality prior to turning over to QC.
- Resolves assembly problems by verifying potential issues with a senior assembler and notifying the supervisor of any changes needed to the BOM or build guide.
- Keeps all tools and other equipment in proper working condition and notifies supervisor of any damaged tools or equipment.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Helps maintain inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level when pulling parts for a build. if a part appears to be low, anticipate needed supplies; and place orders for supplies.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Avoids waste of time and materials.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assignments and other tasks assigned as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience may be required.
- Able to communicate written and verbal.
- Must be able to follow directions written and verbal Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required.
- Able to read basic diagrams and schematics.
- Basic soldering skills.
- Able to perform basic tests with a multimeter.
- Able to use basic hand and power tools safely.
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
