    Description

    Job Location Harlem - New York, NY **Title:** Food Service Clerk and Driver **Location:** Academy/ Other locations As Needed **Position Summary:** The Food Service Clerk and Driver is critical to our success by transporting food from our central food service operation to our remote kitchens and ensuring the safety of foods throughout that process. The Clerk ensures that food is received safely and correctly, stored accordingly and has a firm understanding of location and quantities of both food and supplies. S/he also assists in meal service upon delivery to satellite location and to delivery to rooms at main location. **Deliveries as needed.** Driving, delivering and picking up food items and non-food supplies. Drive to other sites to make deliveries, helps with deliveries at main food service site. **Miscellaneous Tasks** : Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by leaders . Execute miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor. * Excellent driver, with experience navigating NYC. Valid drivers license, experience driving large vehicles. CDL a plus;

    Ability to closely follow protocols and instructions, both written and verbal. Knowledge of FIFO and other receiving and food safety standard procedures;

    Food handlers license preferred;

    A love of cleanliness and organization;

    Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;

    1-2 years kitchen experience preferred but not required; and

    Punctuality and good attendance a must.

    **Travel Requirements** - Travel between Harlem and Long Island City locations.

    **Physical Demands:**

    Must be able to remain standing for hours/entire shift. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stoop, bend and reach. Must have the dexterity required to prep, butcher and operate cleaning equipment.
