Job Summary:
As a Fishing Charter Captain, you will lead fishing excursions likely side by side with our other boat, providing guests with memorable experiences while ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

Vessel Operation:
Safely operate and navigate the charter vessel, adhering to maritime regulations and safety protocols at all times. Monitor weather conditions and make informed decisions regarding charter routes and fishing locations.

Guest Experience:
Provide exceptional customer service to charter guests, ensuring their comfort, enjoyment, and safety throughout the excursion. Share your knowledge of local marine life, fishing techniques, and best practices to enhance the guest experience.

Fishing Expertise:
Utilize your expertise in fishing to locate prime fishing spots, select appropriate bait and tackle, and assist guests in catching fish.
Offer guidance and instruction to anglers of all skill levels, fostering a positive and inclusive fishing environment.4
Safety Management:
Enforce strict safety standards onboard, including conducting pre-departure safety briefings, maintaining safety equipment, and implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
Remain vigilant to potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.5
Team Leadership:
Lead and coordinate fishing mates and deckhands, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth operation of the charter. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, where everyone works together to achieve the highest level of service.

Vessel Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the charter vessel, including regular inspections, repairs, and cleaning. Ensure that all equipment, electronics, and safety gear are in optimal working condition for each charter.
Qualifications:

Captain's License:
Hold a valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License (OUPV or Master), with a sailing endorsement preferred.

Fishing Experience:
Extensive experience in recreational fishing, with a deep understanding of various fishing techniques, equipment, and local fish species.

Navigation Skills:
Proficient in maritime navigation, GPS systems, and chart plotting. Familiarity with local waterways and fishing grounds is advantageous.

Customer Service:
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner and create memorable experiences.

Leadership Abilities:
Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively and adapt to changing conditions.

Safety Certification:
CPR and First Aid certification, as well as knowledge of emergency response procedures and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to work long hours in a dynamic, outdoor environment, often in varying weather conditions.
2. Good physical stamina and agility to maneuver around the vessel and assist guests with fishing activities.
3. Comfortable working on a moving vessel and in potentially rough sea conditions.

$20.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
