Body and Paint Technician

Department:
Department of Transportation - Fleet Management
Full-time, Hourly

Hourly Range:
$ $35.18/hr

Job Summary
The principal function of this position is to repair and paint damaged county owned vehicles and equipment.

Work Schedule:
Employee must have availability to work days, evenings, overtime and nights as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Remove and repair damaged fenders, hoods, quarter panels, doors, grills, and other body parts of different automotive, truck and equipment shapes and designs.
Replace window glass, door latches and other interior regulator as well as locking devices and straighten damaged frames.
Align front and rear end suspensions and refinish metal equipment & furniture
Perform fiberglass body repairs and perform minor welding.
Estimate collision repairs and determine if repairs can be done inhouse or must be sent out to an outside vendor.
Wire, setup and install various types of interior electronics equipment.
Respond as needed to all snow duty call outs.
Other duties as assigned.
Use of Equipment, Tools and Machinery
Operate vehicles, trucks, mowers, forklifts, power tools, hand tools, paint sprayers, welders, and tools of the trade.
Ability to push, pull, lift and carry 100 lbs.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experience

High School diploma or GED required
At least three (3) years or more work experience in the repairing, maintenance, and painting of automotive bodies and/or equipment required.
Basic knowledge in Diagnostic software and fleet work order system familiarity.
