Job Purpose:

The Production Helper is responsible for assisting with the manufacturing process in the facilities. This position requires regular communication and exceptional teamwork with fellow co-workers to ensure production is met.

The Production Helper is expected to assist the Machine Operator run the machine by loading and unloading material and/or product to and from the machine; tie or strap down finished product and assist with other general duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Following are the specific job responsibilities and duties necessary to accomplish the job purpose.

Assist with production line in facility.
Load and unload material from machines, carts, and dollies manually or by use of equipment, such as forklift or overhead crane.
Tie and/or strap down finished product for shipping and receiving.
Remove scrap material from work area.
Communicate with supervisor, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly; perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
Within the scope of the job requirements, adhere and comply with state and federal law, Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
May perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
Following are the skills, experience, education, and related course work typically required or expected to perform the essential job functions:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a general helper/laborer.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a production, manufacturing, or industrial facility preferred.
Must be able to learn how to use forklift and overhead crane.
Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Essential Physical Requirements:
The physical factors and working conditions required or expected while performing the essential functions of the job are described below:

Regularly lift, carry, pull and push 50 lbs. unassisted.
Regularly squat, stoop, bend at waist, turn at waist to complete function above.
Requires regular climbing.
Able to wear required PPE, not limited to: steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses and hardhat.
Must be willing and able to stand for up to 8 hrs

This position will work in an industrial, non-climate controlled setting.
