Description/Job Summary

Position Responsibilities

  • Support energy planning, including the development of installation Energy and Water Plans
  • Conduct energy audits and develop energy conservation measures.
  • Develop energy efficiency improvements for facilities.
  • Analyze energy, water, and other utility data.
  • Provide energy training and support awareness initiatives.
  • Conduct design reviews.
  • Support the development of energy resilience projects, including the integration of onsite renewable energy, energy storage, and microgrids.
  • Develop decarbonization and electrification solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emission associated with power generation and transportation.
  • Support energy project implementation through ESPC, UESC, and ERCIP projects, and other energy funded projects.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:


  • A fouryear engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 9 years of experience in energy management.
  • An Environmental Science, business or related degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
  • A twoyear technical degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in energy management.
  • No degree with a minimum of 18 years of experience in energy management.
  • Background in energy management and experience with onsite renewable energy generation, energy storage, and microgrid projects as well as alternative financing contract vehicles.
  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy projects.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense energy management requirements a plus.
  • Current Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Critical thinking and decisionmaking skills coupled with strong analysis and problemsolving skills.
  • Selfstarter, driven and able to work with limited direction under target timelines.
  • Collaborative personality enjoys and able to work effectively, independently and in a teamoriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a governmentadministered background investigation in order to be granted a Common Access Card and access to government IT systems.
