Job Description
BASIC PURPOSE
Supervising night warehouse operations and personnel to ensure safe and efficient preparation of products for delivery to customers the next day. Managing associates to achieve accurate orders, staging, and loading on trucks, as well as preparing the warehouse for the following day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing associate development through training on policies & procedures for a cohesive organization.
- Monitoring operational information to ensure order accuracy and productivity, taking corrective actions through coaching and counseling.
- Conducting interviews, hiring, reviews, and disciplinary actions for night warehouse personnel.
- Inspecting the facility for safety hazards and maintaining the warehouse's physical condition and equipment.
- Analyzing operations to improve expense and cost control, identifying inventory shrink sources, and preparing various reports.
SUPERVISION
Supervising Union and/or non-union Night Warehouse Workers and Selectors.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Night Warehouse Workers/Selectors/Loaders, Night Warehouse / Operations Manager, Transportation/Day Warehouse Supervisors, Safety Supervisor, Human Resources
External:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Related Experience: Minimum 3 years warehouse distribution and 1 year managing an hourly workforce.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to interpret financial and operational data, basic computer skills, familiarity with inventory control and regulatory requirements, strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
