Summary
Plans and directs accounting activities within the finance department of the Club, Property Owners Association (POA) and Management Company, including but not limited to financial statements, POA annual audits, annual budgets and corporate income tax compliance.

Develops and implements the goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and payroll.
Oversees the Accounting department and all accounting functions including, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general accounting.
Develops annual operating and capital budgets by working with department managers; analyzes budget variances and recommends strategies for improvement.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, retail inventories, fixed asset additions, operating expenses, and insurance & lease records.
Produces and balances month end financial statements, providing a short narrative of significant financial variances to the budget.Manages and conducts internal audits, develops internal control procedures and oversees the annual POA audit.
Monitors and controls all cash flow activity and forecasts.
Establishes system controls for new and financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
Prepares supporting documents for accountant's preparation of tax returns and files license information returns.
Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Reviews monthly departmental reports with management personnel prior to release.
Adheres to all Club policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous club or hospitality experience is preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; POS system (preferably JONAS); Payroll systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now); and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
