    Job Description

    Location: Within Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin that will be determined based on candidate location and Bremer's current needs.

    The Portfolio Manager - SBA Banking position is responsible to manage a relationship portfolio by partnering with relationship managers and credit, to ensure the delivery of exceptional client service via Bremer Relationship Management standards and approach and the achievement of benchmark standards and individual performance objectives, while minimizing credit risk exposure. Key responsibilities include portfolio retention & growth, credit analysis, loan structure design, risk management, and ensuring the SBA portfolio follows all applicable standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    This role will:

    • Work in partnership with the Relationship Manager/Special Assets Manager and Credit, assesses the credit worthiness by identifying risks on all SBA loan servicing requests while adhering to the SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Interfaces directly with clients on questions of credit and loan design and necessary.
    • Owns annual credit review process for supported relationship managers along with tickler management.
    • Manages Past due loans to assist in ensuring loan portfolio risk is taken into consideration.
    • Conducts 10 Tab Audits on loans closed
    • Partners with relationship manager to drive business growth outcomes through increased loan production, cross-sell and new client acquisition.
    • Assists Special Assets regarding workout strategy to ensure we are following the SOP Standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business management or related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years of direct lending and credit experience.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of the lending process.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of the credit and underwriting process.
    • Strong customer service skills and relationship management acumen.
    • Ability to collaborate with teams within Bremer to effectively co-manage existing business relationships.
    • Ability to interact with external customers to facilitate portfolio management and business development.
    • Knowledge of commercial lending concepts, practices, and regulations.
    • Previous experience with the business loan process, credit analysis, portfolio management, and/or related financial services field.
    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
    • Understands, embraces and exhibits Bremer C3 Leadership attributes.
