Description

The German Railway is not only one of the most important mobility service providers, but also one of the largest engineering firms in Germany.

Currently, more than engineers work for us to realize and sustainably maintain new bridges, tunnels, train stations, tracks, and signal systems - but that's not nearly enough.

As an engineer at Deutsche Bahn, you can plan, manage, or supervise something that will remain:
the infrastructure for future generations.

For the people in the region. In Germany. In Europe.

For the transportation revolution and the shift towards sustainable mobility, the new railway line between Gelnhausen and Fulda is one of the most important infrastructure projects in Germany.

The railway line in the Kinzig Valley is already one of the busiest sections of track in Germany.

The construction of an additional track will relieve this bottleneck:
fast trains can then travel on their own tracks, separate from slower trains. This creates space for more trains and more punctual trains.

In our department, we are responsible for the entire new railway line (approximately 45 km) and all related trades. This includes the trades of signaling and safety technology (DSTW/ETCS), telecommunications, overhead lines, and power supply. We are currently in the planning phase (LPH 2). Check out our upcoming milestones here.

As a project engineer, you will be responsible for signaling projects with subsequent signaling and safety technology, as well as the European Train Control System (ETCS) for the Digital Rail Germany.
