GENERAL CLERK III -
The Department of Justice, United States Attorney's Office (USAO) located in District of Columbia is the principal litigator for the United States Government in District of Columbia.
Attorney's Office (USAO) is to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the Federal Government, and to prosecute and defend civil cases in which the United States is a party.
We are seeking a General Clerk III to provide document management analysis and support for the USAO in the District of Columbia.
DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Completes detailed indexing of case files;
- Drafts procedures for accomplishing litigation support assignments;
- Performs document acquisition related tasks including screening for privilege documents; conducting database searches; and performing ediscovery culling.
- Proofreads and edits deliverable products.
- Sometimes serves as "team leader" for larger group of Document Management Technicians and clerical support staff. Often works with mínimal supervision.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory or management authority.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year of experience on major litigation support projects or undergraduate degree.
Certain assignments may require experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities.
- Should be a knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

$ $18.50 per hour
