    Job Description Summary
    The Clinical Statistical Analyst will work across the Statistical Center for Translational Research in Medicine (SC-TRM) and new Center for AI and Data Science for Integrated Diagnostics (AI2D) to apply statistical and machine learning methods to multi-institutional clinical and biological data to help develop approaches and tools for learning healthcare systems. These methods will be used to study clinical practices and to help implement policies and interventions related to disease screening, population health, and decision science. The Statistical Analyst will also contribute to the development of novel statistical and computational learning methods, including for training prediction models that are interpretable, transferable across clinical practices, and equitable. This individual will work closely with faculty and staff of the Departments of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics.

    Job Description

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master's Degree in Statistics of Biostatistics preferred
    • Fluency with standard statistical learning techniques, such as logistic regression, mixed-effect modeling, and causal inference required
    • A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data required
    • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and sound judgment required
    • A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision required
    • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner required
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
    • Fluency in coding in R preferred
    • Experience with clinical or biomedical research preferred
    • Experience with statistical prediction or statistical method development a plus
    • Familiarity with formal software development methods and/or reproducible scientific workflows (e.g. Jupyter notebooks or Rmarkdown) and version control (e.g. git) a plus
    • Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, large volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources a plus
    • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, NoSql design, or deployment and analyzing on many TB's of data a plus
    • Experience in coding in Python or C++ a plus
    • Familiarity with Linux OS operating systems or high-performance computing a plus
