ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Non-rotating, 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of custodial, maintenance and ground keeping duties, such as: clean and sanitize restrooms; clean kitchen and appliances; dust, vacuum, spot clean carpets, clean blinds and windows in administration offices.

Upkeep of all floors such as:
sweep, wax, mop and buff; clean glass doors, dust furniture, fixtures and blinds. Ensure all recycle and waste containers are emptied daily.

Maintain building grounds by; mowing grass, use a weed eater along sidewalks and trim trees as needed, sweep sidewalk, and collect trash.

Use and maintain assigned hand and power equipment/tools and city vehicle. Clean and sanitize Street Operation trailers adjacent to building. Drive twice a week to clean the Signs & Marking building located on Leopard Street. Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and drive to city warehouse to replenish supplies and other related work as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position requires High school diploma or GED with less than one (1) year experience.

Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and routine operation of cleaning machines and the use of cleaning chemicals.

A valid driver's license is required.

Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.

In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".

All employees in safety sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing, pursuant to City policy, HR 15.0 Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
