_This is a hybrid role based out of our Bethesda, MD HQ_:


  • _This is an individual contributor role that would be ideal for a recent graduate in Design, Architecture or Construction that is tech savvy and enjoys working in databases._


Marriott's Global Design Strategies team designs and powers experiences our customers love in our pursuit to become the world's favorite travel company.

We are looking for someone who can support the development and maintenance of current brand design standards. The role blends technical thinking with smart business sense.

This person will have the unique ability to intertwine design strategy, operations principles, and consumer insights with design skills to effectively convey the information to our many stakeholders.


This individual will need to work collaboratively with all team members and be introduced to Subject Matter Experts across several Marriott departments (Global Design, Operations, Residential, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Risk Management, IT, Fitness/Spa, Fire & Life Safety) and external stakeholders (Consultants, Vendors).

This role is global in scope and also interfaces with Marriott's global regions (Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific, China, Caribbean & Latin America).


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • Six or more years professional experience in architectural, construction, specifications, or interior design.
  • 4year degree from an accredited university in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction or related field.
  • Knowledge of architecture, interior architecture, building product specifications, basic engineering and computer systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more content management systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and resources
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Expert written / editing and verbal communications skills
  • Solid understanding of all things digital like Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with database systems to manage content

Experience Preferred

  • Execute quality assurance of content on a daily basis, by producing & managing drafts for leadership review, in various formats (e.g., Excel, InDesign, Word).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible
  • Complex problem solving & creative solution skills
  • Manage / organize pertinent information and requests in project management software (e.g., Hive).
  • Research industry standards and technical guidance / information.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively to help establish and maintain project deadlines and project budgets.
  • Shift gears from one project to another.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a selfdirected environment
  • Respond to others in a timely manner and pitch in wherever is needed without hesitation.
  • Clarify each task, make decisions with supporting knowledge and ask for clarification when not sure.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • Coordinates and implements work and projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate and manage project documents across publishing and management platforms.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Manages the flow of questions and directs questions.

Supporting Operations

  • Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
  • Establishes and maintains complete and uptodate information to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Represents team in resolving situations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage design standards content in a content management software system; master system functionality.
  • Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, organized manner.
  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up.
  • Maintains positive working relations with internal customers and department managers.
  • Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by manager.
