    Responsibilities


    The Division of Medical Physics in the Radiology Department at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN invites applicants interested in a clinical MR medical physicist position.


    The primary focus of the position is to further the clinical mission of the department by supporting innovative clinical, research, and education programs.

    The successful candidate will join a group of over 20 medical physicists and over 200 radiologists seeking to advance the goals and objectives of the Mayo Clinic.

    The position will focus on developing and advancing MRI imaging for patients at Mayo Clinic and provide direct support and direction for projects driven by Radiology such as periodic evaluation of equipment performance, development of advanced clinical applications and procedures, and performance optimization of clinical and research protocols.

    There are ample opportunities for strong collaborations with scientists and clinicians. Interest and experience in innovation, research, and development are desirable.

    This position will require the following skills and interests:


    • Technical expertise related to clinical MR imaging
    • Experience of development and translation of innovative MR imaging techniques and systems into clinical practice
    • Project planning and management
    • Team development, strategic thinking and acting
    • Management leadership
    • Superior interpersonal and communication skills with staff at all levels
    • Scientific writing and teaching skills
    Qualifications


    Qualified candidates should have doctoral degree in medical physics or a related field with emphasis on MRI and be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics.
