Description

We are seeking Special Event Workers to assist with the loading and unloading of materials from vendor vehicles within or near Museum site.

Performs general maintenance of Museum to include but not limited to, sweeping, shoveling, trash removal and load-in of Museum maintenance supplies.

Move exhibits as instructed when needed.

  • Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor, special events manager, foreman, maintenance worker regarding cleaning and labor projects.
  • Cleans Museum property and exhibits, including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors and cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment and polishes metalwork.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Cleans, clears and otherwise maintains pier and shovels/removes snow.
  • Transports equipment or tools between departments.
  • Opens containers.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
  • Assembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
  • Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.
  • Responds to all facilities emergencies and assists other Operations personnel with timely, cost effective resolutions or temporary setups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
