    **Description**

    **PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

    **Customer Relationship** (Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc.)

    **Carrier Relationship** (Productive carrier relationship development, cover loads, handling and management of difficult situations, etc.)

    **Financial Procedures and Operating Metrics** (Detention management, Lumper management, benchmark rate achievement, expedite decisions and cost, etc.)

    **Effective Shift Handoff** (Communicate all issues and follow up needs for the shift change in a clear and concise manner)

    ***** WORK SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday starting at 5:00 pm *****

    **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS**

    Effectively communicate with drivers, dispatchers, shippers, receivers, customers, and teammates nightly.

    Use good operational decision making to maintain service and contain costs for our customers

    Assist drivers and dispatchers with operational needs and resolve problems in a timely manner

    Obtain status of tendered shipments and monitor shipments through transit

    Update load status in system (e.g. loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty, etc.)

    Notify Shipper and/or Receiver of Load Status and reschedule pick-up/delivery appointments when necessary

    Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers, shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses

    Secure Capacity for available freight

    Correspond with customer and carrier regarding detention, layover, and other accessorial needs

    Coordination and Collaboration (Ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal Transplace teams (to effectively leverage brokerage services.))

    Basic Math (Includes aptitude to learn how to calculate mileage as it relates to the passage of time)

    Service Orientation (Commits to and enjoys providing exceptional service to internal and external customers)

    **EXPERIENCE**

    2-4 years experience within the Transportation or Logistics Industry preferred.

    Brokerage experience preferred

    **EDUCATION**

    High School Diploma or GED is Required
