This role is remote but will require travel to our clinic and school locations. EST/CST time zones preferred.


The Director of School Services Division operates with oversight and guidance from the executive leadership team in order to carry out the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below to provide overall leadership, quality assurance, and clinical and managerial support for school districts across the organization's school services division.

This position assists with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the assigned school district commitments by assuring consistent execution of established policies and procedures in compliance with company standards and funding source requirements while ensuring delivery of quality-based services.

The Director of School Services Division is an exempt leadership role responsible for fulfilling and maintaining school district contracts.

This position works collaboratively with executive and regional leadership and other team members to manage the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new staff members, while ensuring all school districts are receiving the highest quality services for their staff and students in a timely and ethical manner.

In addition, the Director of School Services Division position contributes to establishing and maintaining the overall growth, culture, and performance of all Surpass Behavioral Health employees assigned to the school services division.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Researches and remains current and fluent on state education funding and use of contractors in schools, as well as licensure requirements, cost, and regulations related to school services
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders across school districts via frequent, open, and timely communication
  • Develops and establishes new leads and/or relationships with new schools and districts
  • Develops and maintains contract proposals for school districts, including facilitation of annual renewals of contracts and management/oversight of implementation of contracted services
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to ensure that projected budgets and staffing allow for the rendering of full scope of services outlined in executed contracts
  • Facilitates hiring and onboarding of BCBA and RBT/BT staff members to build service teams for each contracted school/district
  • Oversees new hire orientation of Surpass school team members by providing materials, I9 verification, and progress monitoring during trainings and compliance requirements
  • Provides clinical support and oversight, including peer review of clinical documentation, to BCBA and RBT/BT staff working in the schools
  • Actively participates in weekly operations calls and provides relevant data and feedback on key performance indicators related to school services
  • Runs unconverted time reports for schoolbased staff and follows up with providers at a
    _minimum_ of a weekly basis
  • Tracks schoolbased employee attendance and implements policy as written
  • Approves PTO requests for school staff in a timely manner, edits timesheets as needed and approves them biweekly
  • Monitors and executes employee annual requirements as directed by leadership team
  • Assists with billing errors in a timely fashion by identifying the error, obtaining the revised supporting documentation, and uploading to a support ticket for processing
  • Assesses local community needs within the schools (i.e., public, private, etc.)
  • Position will involve a combination of remote work and orgwide travel to provide clinical oversight and maintain relationships in contracted schools/districts

We are looking for a compassionate Director of School Services with:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Behavioral Health, Education, Healthcare Management, Sociology, Psychology, or related field; Education or Special Education, preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience working with children across special education eligibility categories, in a school setting, required.
  • Board Certified
