    Description

    Job Summary:

    Serves as a member of the senior leadership team in the Office of the University Registrar. Represents the University Registrar and the Office in the absence of, or at the request of, the University Registrar. Has broad oversight of critical operations within the Office and directly supervises multiple units within the Office.

    Duties/Physical Demands:

    Overall University Registrar Office Responsibilities: Maintains the highest level of institutional integrity for the critical office responsibility of maintaining the degree and student records of all past, present, and future MIami students. Ensures the highest level of accuracy in processes supporting faculty, administration, and students. Ensures the highest degree of privacy and confidentiality for office operations given the sensitive nature of academic and personal information and records. Assists in planning, directing, and managing daily operations and future initiatives. Specific Areas of Responsibility: Directly oversees daily operations in multiple office units including, but not limited to, class scheduling, registration, enrollment reporting, academic records, curriculum management, transfer evaluation/articulation, and degree clearance. Develops and delivers complex data analyses and reports to University executive leadership. Serves as University Registrar liaison with the Office of the Provost and other University leadership and academic divisions for the purpose of institutional planning and support. Directly supervises and manages staff. Prepares annual evaluations, sets goals, coaches for success, and administers disciplinary measures for unclassified and classified staff. Oversees new and existing process, system, and software procurements, implementations/upgrades. Serves as project manager on IT projects. Serves as the University Registrar liaison to University constituents and outside parties regarding FERPA, student data requests, and security access to student areas of the University database.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5* - 8+** years of experience in a University Registrar's office with increasing responsibility. Established functional, implementation and enhancement experience with web-based information systems, including student databases with integrated software applications. Strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills congruent with collaborative management style and a commitment to teamwork and camaraderie in all areas of the University.     Desired Qualifications:

    Experience with Ellucian Banner software, CollegeNet 25Live, College Source uAchieve, NSC electronic transcript functionality, or CourseLeaf/Leepfrog products.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge of federal and state law in the area of protection and security of student academic records (e.g., FERPA, open records laws) Demonstrated evidence of strong leadership and managerial skills including the ability to oversee multiple projects, set priorities, and manage resources, staff and operational processes.
