We are looking for Temporary Part-Time Direct Care Specialists to join our team in Norman OK The Direct Care Specialist will provide and assist in nursing and therapeutic care as well as recreational and personal activities for disabled and developmentally challenged pediatric patients from birth to 21 We offer schedule options that work with your busy student lifestyle including evening shifts of 2:45 p.m to 10:45 p.m Working two or more shifts per week Pay - $20/hour Responsibilities include patient care medical needs professional development Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required Previous hospital experience preferred Excellent customer service skills Prolonged periods of standing and walking Must be able to lift push or pull thirty pounds About J D McCarty Center J D McCarty Center is a pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities birth to twenty-one years old We are a unique thirty-six bed hospital Patient admissions occur for thirty days after which they are assigned treatment teams consisting of physical therapy occupational therapy speech therapy ABA social services psychological services behavioral analysis nutritional services recreational therapy Our campus includes an on-site elementary intermediate high school staffed by Norman Public School teachers Patients may continue treatment beyond the initial thirty days based upon progress placement needs This job requires working independently maintaining confidentiality providing excellent communication interpersonal conflict resolution teamwork time management organization problem-solving technical adaptability flexibility stress tolerance patience understanding compassion empathy emotional stability reliability punctuality dependability enthusiasm flexibility self-motivation initiative accountability consistency integrity strong work ethic ability maintain confidential information follow safety protocols adhering client rights rules quality standards performance goals deadlines timely accurate complete thorough reliable efficient effective organized methodical systematic logical analytical strategic critical thinking promotional budget planning resource allocation scheduling coordination.
