About J.D. McCarty Center:
J.D. Mccarty Center is a pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities birth to 21 years of age. We are a unique 36 bed hospital. Patient are admitted for a 30-day evaluation during which they are assigned a treatment team consisting of nursing unit, physical therapy, occupational therapy speech therapy nutritional services social services psychological services behavioral analysis and recreational therapy Our campus includes an onsite elementary intermediate and high school which is staffed by Norman Public School teachers Patients may continue treatment needs beyond the 30-days as an in-patient in habilitation status based upon progress or placement needs The Direct Care Specialist will provide and assist in nursing and therapeutic care as well as recreational personal activities for disabled developmentally challenged pediatric patients from birth to 21 working Evening Shift (2:45p-10:45p) Salary $20.00 per hour The ideal candidate is dependable compassionate punctual enjoys helping others This person must be reliable empathetic able work with children Responsibilities Patient care Instill confidence trust patients competent caring manner Provide hygiene daily living assistance include toileting bathing assisting patients showers assisting meal time accompanying patient on-site school medical appointments community outings Responsible maintaining patient living areas include straightening up patient bedrooms strip bed linen completing laundry assignments meal prep clean up sweeping mopping needed cleaning equipment picking storing all play equipment supplies used hospital unit Medical needs Responsible knowing patient care plans behavioral plans assisting nurse medical treatments provides support therapies school medical appointments Follows schedule ensure patient goals completed Works therapeutic team achieving positive outcome long term goals Completes documentation electronic health record Reports concerns nurse Professional development Maintain specialized training applicable perform additional tasks pertinent assigned area Opportunity certification Registered Behavioral Technician RBT Requirements High school diploma equivalent required Previous hospital experience preferred Educational background medicine recreation therapy Excellent customer service skills Prolonged periods standing walking Must lift push pull pounds Must have valid drivers license Serve year probationary period References required Will serve day scheduled paid week Required two week paid orientation Benefits Shift Differential Health Insurance Benefit allowance including Dental Life Disability insurance Optional insurance Vision Supplemental Life Dependent Health Dependent Life Flexible Spending plans available Defined Contribution Retirement Plan weeks Annual Leave Sick Leave year Longevity Bonus beginning year employment Employee Assistance Program confidential resource regarding personal family concerns Tobacco vape free facility Other benefit opportunities state employee discounts continuing education supplemental insurance plans credit unions
