Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented HIM Specialist to join our team.

As a HIM Specialist, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the HIM operations of our organization.

This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as alternate for the following positions within H.I.M.

(please see job description of each):


  • Medical Records Clerk
  • Medical Abstractor
  • Diagnostic Testing Chart Prep
  • Office Visit Chart Prep
  • Ambulatory Scanning
  • Diagnostic Testing Report Scanning
Ensure that all medical records are protected and kept confidential.

Working with the H.I.M. Department Lead to ensure all patient chart, paperwork and reports are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.

Provide administrative support to team members.

Supplying physicians, clinical staff, and administrative staff with reports upon request.

Displays excellent communication while maintaining a courteous demeanor and professional attitude.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of HIPPA, as well as State and Federal regulations concerning PHI
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problemsolving skills

Pay:
$ $21.50 per hour


Work setting:

  • Inperson

Experience:

Microsoft Office: 5 years (required)

  • Medical records: 2 years (required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Springfield, MA required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Springfield, MA 01107: Relocate before starting work (required)
