BCS has an immediate opening for a
Communications Specialist to join our growing team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).


Responsibilities:

This person will be working with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders. Most of your job responsibilities will be centered around communications, stakeholder engagement and outreach, support, and deliverables. Here are some examples.

  • Supporting the Communications Lead on coordination, development, and posting of Request for Information (RFIs) and Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs)
  • Supporting the Communications Specialist on drafting and editing content
  • Overall, you will work with content creation, website management, graphic design, social media management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Supporting the Stakeholder Engagement Lead on funding opportunity events and the point person for program events support
  • Creating content and resources for stakeholders
  • Supporting ED programs in creating content for stakeholders
  • Representing ED in crosscutting activities
  • Coordinating and supporting the development
  • Weekly Project Management Report
  • Monthly Progress Report
  • Briefing materials, fact sheets, presentations, and other documents, as requested
  • Information and data, and assessments, as requested

Job Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree is required
- +3 years of relevant work experience

  • Strong writing and presentation development skills required; including the ability to convey technical and complex information to a general audience.
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with IRA tax credits is preferred (particularly communicating the complicated nature of topics like tax credits to stakeholders)
  • Experience working with a federal government agency and/or knowledge of government processes (is preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of 508 accessibility compliance (preferred)
