The Vice President of Programs & Services requires a forward-thinking individual who will be responsible for overall strategic and operational responsibility for all program areas.

You will be a part of the Executive Leadership Team that drives the overall strategy for the organization and represents The Night Ministry on a local, regional, and national basis.

In this role you will develop deep knowledge of each project, program operations, and business plan, and will focus on the following three areas:
program & service leadership and management, external relationships, and knowledge management.


Reporting to the President & CEO, it is the responsibility that The Night Ministry's program offerings are aligned with the mission and designed and implemented for growth and innovation.

You will ensure that human and financial resources are maximized, foster collaboration amongst TNM staff members, and support continuous learning.


Responsibilities:

Strategy, Vision & Leadership

  • Play an active role on the Executive Team of The Night Ministry, attending all meetings and collaborating to address strategic issues for organization maintenance and growth.
  • As a key decisionmaker in the organization, take an active role in recommending strategic opportunities and directions.
  • Work closely with VP of Finance & Operations and VP of Advancement to identify funding sources for programs, evaluate opportunities and ensure stewardship of resources. Meet with funders as needed; review program narratives, create grant budgets.
  • Ensure that program development and operations are in alignment with or working toward organizational racial equity goals.
  • Play an active role as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, attending all meetings of the Team and working with fellow Team members, who are also direct reports, to implement decisions made by the Team.
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors, Learning + Impact and the Executive Committee of the Board; prepare quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Board.
  • Represent The Night Ministry with external stakeholders, such as funders or on external committees or task groups.
  • Attend site visits with funders or donor meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for developing and managing systems that ensure that TNM's regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
Programs & Services Leadership

  • Leading the process to periodically set vision, direction, and strategic goals for TNM programs. Guide implementation of strategic goals through creation of partnerships, and innovative programming.
  • Provide leadership to staff; directly supervise the Director of Outreach and Health Ministry, the Directors of Youth Programs, and the Director of Strategic Partnerships
  • Ensure that programs are operating efficiently. Lead annual budgeting for all programs.
  • Examine ways in which and direct efforts to ensure that programmatic structures are designed to meet their goals most effectively and efficiently.
  • Foster a culture of learning, inquisitiveness, and participation in ensuring programs are responsive to client needs.
  • Assist in integrating Human Resources into programmatic activities, developing ways in which TNM can better support and develop its employees' technical and leadership skills.
Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, and Community Relations

  • Act as TNM's senior liaison to community leaders, government officials and neighborhood groups that interface with its programs.
  • Lead the proactive development of relationships with government officials, community leaders, congregations, other nonprofits, and businesses in the neighborhoods served by TNM or where TNM may want to establish services that will support TNM in the fulfillment of its mission.
