WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Answers routine telephone or inperson inquiries, referring patrons to librarians for further assistance when necessary.
  • Catalog and sort books and other print and nonprint materials according to procedures, and returns them to shelves, files, or other designated storage areas.
  • Codes, classifies, and catalogs books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on standard library classification systems.
  • Provides technical assistance to patrons by composing summaries of journal contents and delivering subsequently requested materials.
  • Searches standard reference materials, including online sources and the Internet, to answer patrons reference questions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School Diploma/GED
