Job Description

The Construction Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid, and price construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, and resource providers involved in construction services.

This role will be working directly with management, sales and project management to ensure timely and accurate estimates.

We focus on exterior construction finishes and installations, however a broad construction knowledge will be helpful including reading and understanding blueprints and as-built drawings.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure that estimates meet client requirements

• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project

• Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate

• Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades

• Work with Project Managers to price bid items, if needed

• Identify and document finalized project scope of work

• Work with outside resources as necessary to complete accurate estimate

• Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates

• Deliver and communicate estimate to Construction Manager

Education and Experience Requirements

• BA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field preferred but will accept equivalent, related work experience

• 2 years previous construction estimating

• Superb customer service

• Effective written and oral communication

• Proficient use of Xactimate, PlanSwift, Active Takeoff or similar estimating software

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Team Player

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Walking and/or standing throughout the day

Position requires long periods of time at the computer work station.
