Our interns are an integral part of the
Europe Center. Team projects are all-hands-on-deck.

The Europe Center seeks to understand change in Europe, galvanize leadership, and forge a strategy of renewal, deepening the Atlantic Council's impact in an area that has always been central to our mission.

The center conducts high-level convening and cutting-edge research to promote engagement between policymakers, economic leaders, and citizens on both sides of the Atlantic; promote rising leaders; and develop common solutions to defend our liberal democracies.

This internship is based full-time in our Washington, DC headquarters. The intern will be paid at a rate of $17.50 per hour.


Responsibilities:


  • Handle logistics for Council events and activities of the Europe Center's programming.
  • Organize and consolidate prep materials for various meetings, appointments, speaking engagements, and public appearances.
  • Help manage the operations and administrative functions of the Europe Center.
  • Manage program contacts and networks.
  • Support Center outreach as needed.
  • Draft correspondence and take notes at Council roundtables and strategy sessions.
  • Conduct research for Europe Center staff and fellows as needed to support the activities of the Europe Center, including meetings, speeches, articles, task force reports, and policy briefs.
  • Must be at least a college junior in good standing, a graduate student, or a recent graduate, preferably majoring in international affairs or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrable interest in transatlantic relations, the Atlantic community, and the core mission of the Atlantic Council. Demonstrated knowledge of the EU and member state affairs highly desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written live and virtual), including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Aptitude and strong skills in research, and writing, and logistics for events.
  • Strong analytical, planning, time management, and organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to work in our office for the entirety of the internship.
  • Proficiency in a European language
    preferred.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week is
    required.
