    Hirschbach is on the lookout for Diesel Technicians to join our team at the East Dubuque, IL location. At Hirschbach, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on one of the most modern and well-equipped fleets around.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Identify, diagnose, and solve issues with tractors and occasional trailers
    • Complete necessary company paperwork such as repair orders and indirect labor forms accurately and in a timely manner
    • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM's) on tractor and trailer equipment as assigned
    • Categorize repairs correctly according to current company standards
    • Record parts and supplies used during repairs accurately
    • Document repair stories effectively to ensure proper documentation of complaints and corrections
    • Perform physical tasks related to equipment maintenance, such as bending, lifting, and climbing
    • Provide assistance to other mechanics when needed

    Talent Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Preferably two years of experience in Fleet Maintenance or a Technical School Degree
    • Prior experience in repairing, maintaining, and diagnosing Class 8 equipment
    • Familiarity with general welding skills and various materials
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Basic computer skills for diagnostic tool usage

    Pay & Benefits

    • $2/hr shift premium for 2nd shift roles
    • $1,200/annual tool allowance
    • Paid OEM training
