Job Summary:

FOSS Inc is seeking a talented and motivated Level 1 IT Specialist to join our IT department. The Level 1 IT Specialist will provide technical support to end-users and assist with basic IT troubleshooting tasks.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
• Set up and maintain user accounts and permissions.
• Assist with IT equipment setup and maintenance.
• Document and track technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Collaborate with 3rd Party Vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues.
• Follow IT security protocols and best practices to ensure data protection.
• Assist with IT projects and initiatives including data/file storage and security.
• Stay updated on new technologies and trends in the IT industry.
• Assist in programing Access-based Software.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in providing technical support to end-users.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Mac operating systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment when necessary.
• Houston Based
• 25% Travel Required
