Description
As an interventionist, you'll help students in kindergarten through third grade to become better readers using evidence-based, scripted interventions.

With great training and onsite coaching, we'll prepare you to work one-on-one or in small groups to help kids develop their reading skills and confidence We are looking for people who have a desire to help kids succeed.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 27.5 hours per week. Requires 5 days per week. Position starts 8/26/2024 and ends 5/31/2025.


Compensation/Benefits:

living stipend of $888.25 biweekly (totaling $ 1,776.50 per month), education award of up to $3,697.50 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses; federal student loan forbearance.

Interventionists may elect to complete their Michigan Youth Development Associate (Mi-YDA) credential.

Michigan Education Corps AmeriCorps members also have access to the Member Support Fund (up to $500 for emergency /unexpected expenses), affinity groups and workforce development/career pathway groups.


Minimum required qualifications:


  • Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
  • Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
  • Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
  • Must pass mandatory preservice background checks.
  • Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
