Accounting Supervisor - Deerfield, United States - Sutker Moran

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end close, tax preparation, and support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, consolidation, and taxes
• Lead the quarterly and yearend close activities
• Assess current practices and procedures, implement effective internal controls across the company, and make recommendations for improvements
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
• Work with external auditors, consultants, and firms
• Develop, lead, evaluate, and mentor the accounting team
• Uphold and instill the company's philosophy and culture within the team

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
• CPA certification preferred but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Detailoriented with the ability to recommend solutions to business issues and process improvements
• Selfdriven, valueadding approach, and a "can do" attitude
