NECC is a global leader in autism education and research.

We provide a comprehensive structure to help children and young adults with autism through evidence-based services in home-based, day, and residential programs, in unison with ongoing research on educational best practices.

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) work in our residential program and collaborate with a team of professionals to instruct students in general curriculum areas including communication, social skills, activities of daily living (i.e. personal hygiene), vocational skills, adaptive physical education, and self-preservation. BHTs are responsible for keeping our students' spaces clean and safe and will do some general house chores. They are also trained in medication administration (MAP), student/van transportation, and verbal and physical de-escalation of challenging behaviors (CALM training), allowing our students to effectively communicate their needs, improve their problem-solving skills, and maintain their well-being.
