About the role

• The Manager, Power & Strategy will play a vital role in supporting strategic and corporate development initiatives across Riot's increasingly diversified business operations. In this role, the Manager, Power Strategy will leverage their expertise to help evaluate and analyze key business decisions, including management of daily ancillary obligations and overseeing energy curtailment for multiple sites, analyzing and recommending trading/hedging opportunities, and working cross functionally with the QSE and IT teams to execute power strategy and to support the continued growth and development of Riot's selfmining, data center hosting, and electrical equipment businesses.
• As a key member of the Corporate Development team, the Manager will report to the VP of Financial Operations.

Essential Duties

• Managing daily ancillary obligations, requiring collaborating with QSE, onsite operations, and IT.
• Managing curtailment of multiple sites to respond to high prices, demand response, and 4CP.
• Monitoring natural gas, power prices, and ERCOT system conditions to recommend hedging opportunities and strategy.
• Work closely within the Corporate Development team and other cross functional teams within Riot to own power related operations and assist in Investor Relationsrelated analysis and content development in the context of Riot's power situation and strategy.
• No direct reports, but ability to manage crossfunctionally and take ownership of workstreams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proficient in financial analysis and the development of complex financial models to analyze trading/hedging opportunities, including financial forecasting, scenario analysis, "what-if" analysis, etc. Experience with network operations center, QSE, ERCOT operations, and/or power trading is a plus, as is an existing network of relationships across such counterparties. Entrepreneurial spirit and an "ownership" attitude required to drive projects forward. Knowledge of the Bitcoin network, Bitcoin mining metrics and Energy markets is preferred. Proactive problem-solver. Strong interpersonal skills, able to quickly establish and maintain positive professional relationships both internally and externally and to work well with project teams and external advisors.
Education and Experience

• Passionate about Bitcoin and developing the Bitcoin ecosystem.
• Bachelor's degree in business / accounting / finance / economics.
• 5+ years of professional experience ideally in financial analysis, power trading, ERCOT planning/operations, and/or QSE/network operations center.
