Job Overview:


The Security Training and Outreach Consultant position is required to have the skills, knowledge, and professional acumen to advise senior executive leadership to include Political Appointees, Chiefs of Mission, or private corporate executive staff in addition to routine consultation with Senior Executive Service staff on matters of physical and individual security in high-risk austere international conditions.

Will serve as principal liaison to the Diplomatic Security Agency and other Partner security forces as needed.


This position reports to the Program Manager and will perform duties in support of USAID Office of Security located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:


Essential Duties & Job Functions:


  • Provides Executive leadership advice and assessment of security posture and risk considerations and mitigation for USAID facilities, Missions, US Embassies, and US Consulates.
  • Coordinates and executes security assessments of USAID implementing partners at USAID facilities both domestically and overseas at USAID Missions, U.S. Embassies and U.S. Consulates.
  • Provides Expert strategic security consultation for Senior Government and Private executive leadership inherent in the execution of the National objectives in host nations.
  • Provides senior and expert guidance to Mission Senior Officials with information on Partner Liaison Security Office (PLSO) opportunities, and training for Implementing Partners.
  • Liaises with Diplomatic Security and other security stakeholders at USAID Missions.
  • Principle liaison to the Diplomatic Security Agency (DSS).

Job Requirements:

Mandatory:


  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience, education, and/or training that culminated with the successful implementation and execution of international security programs at the GS15 (or equivalent) grade.
  • Experience must include the successful strategic oversight of the security for US interests in a sovereign nation or geopolitical region that encompassed US Embassies, Missions, and/or Consulates.
  • Travel to USAID Missions required.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief, advise, assist all levels of civilian and government officials to include Chiefs of Mission, Senior Executive Service (SES), Political Appointees, and private industry.
