- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients within the parameters of their licensure.
- Adhere to evidence-based medical guidelines and standards approved by CCI's Board and Performance Improvement Committee.
- Carry-out the major responsibility for student's health care needs including evaluation, management, and follow-up independently or in collaboration with physician consultation or referrals.
- Adhere to a work schedule that provides extended (after school) hours on a recurring cycle.
- Provide telehealth visit coverage for other locations as needed.
- Complete electronic medical records documentation in expected time frames.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities and audits.
- Attend and participate in (1) health fairs, (2) meetings with SBWC members and public/private health and human service and education partners, (3) at school community advisory group and/or Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) sessions to collaborate, consult, plan, or evaluate opportunities and (4) health promotion and prevention activities.
- May instruct nursing students in clinical practice and procedures.
- Working on-site is an essential duty for the job and regular, reliable attendance is required.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or designee.
- Knowledge of state regulations governing advanced practice nursing.
- Skill in communicating effectively with students and their families, care team members, school staff and administrators.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, and the public.
- Computer skills required, including knowledge/experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).
- The ability to speak and write English fluently. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Nurse Practitioner certification from an accredited program.
- Active license issued by the State of Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Active Maryland CDS license. DEA licensure. Current BLS certification.
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and communities.
- Ability to collect adequate patient data, conduct a physical exam, interpret physical findings and manage or refer the student as conditions or protocols dictate.
- Flexibility to work at different CCI locations.
- Proper and professional grooming is always expected.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending or working at a desk on a computer.
- The ability to lift (up to 15lbs) is required.
- Work under stressful conditions within a controlled enclosed environment daily. The work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Based Wellness Center (SBWC) Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care commensurate to their training and experience, and in collaboration with CCI physicians.
CCI Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to work in our School-Based Wellness Center (SBWC) program.
Positions are available for 10 month or 12-month appointments in Montgomery County High Schools as well hybrid appointments that include 10 months in the schools and 2 months providing care in one of our community-based practices during the summers.
The SBWC program is a partnership between CCI Health Services and Montgomery County Government.As a member of the wellness center's integrated care team the Nurse Practitioner will fulfill the following KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care:
