This position is eligible for our Clinical Laboratory Incentive Program. Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNCHCS.The Core Laboratory is comprised of multiple testing areas- Chemistry, Toxicology, Blood Gas Analysis, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Automated Hematology and Manual Hematology, including Smear Review and Body Fluid Analysis, and Specimen Processing.
The Core Laboratory is currently recruiting a Senior Technologist to serve as Acting Charge Tech on weekend shifts.Ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory
Resolving issues and complaints
Triaging assignments to staff based on coverage needs
Ensuring all laboratory quality indicators are met
Resolving, documenting, and communicating problems that arise during shift
Acting as a role model and advocate for compliance with policies and procedures
Position will be 12 hour shifts, , Saturdays and Sundays. Another 2 8 hour shifts, , will be required during the week.
Requires Bachelor's of Science degree.
Requires two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
