    Expected pay range: $25.37 to $33.42 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience and skills.

    As the Lead Freight Classification Specialist, your meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic are essential for maintaining smooth operations and delivering excellent service to our customers. Your role involves verifying the accuracy of shipment descriptions against the Bill of Lading provided by our clients.     Your daily responsibilities will include:

    • Reviewing inspection reports for potential issues
    • Conducting inspections of shipments using handheld devices
    • Verifying accuracy of BOL and billing descriptions
    • Gathering shipment information such as dimensions and commodity characteristics
    • Researching commodity details using the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC)
    • Issuing document corrections per NMFC guidelines
    • Uploading documents/pictures for review by stakeholders
    • Maintaining reports to track corrections and revenue recovery

    Key qualifications for success at XPO:

    Essential requirements:

    • Minimum 4 years of work or military experience
    • Ability to communicate classification corrections effectively
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite
    • Proficiency in internet research using specific keywords
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends

    Preferred qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Knowledge of NMFC regulations, rules, and packaging
    • Experience in weights and inspections
    • Background in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry

    This role involves:

    • Lifting objects of varying weights and shapes
    • Extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking
    • Physical movements like bending, climbing, pushing, and kneeling
