USM sponsors 23 intercollegiate sports:

men's and women's cross country and track & field, field hockey, golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey, wrestling, softball, baseball, and men's and women's lacrosse.


Athletics is searching for an
Administrative Specialist CL2 to performs administrative work to support the staff, students and public that have contact with the Athletic Department.

This requires extensive procedural knowledge and organizational skills.

Work involves considerable internal and external contacts as well as handling verbal and written communications for a broad range of questions.

Ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are providing exemplary customer service, maintaining confidentiality, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and to prioritize, and the ability to work in a diverse environment with many interruptions.

Judgment and initiative are frequently exercised, and work is typically performed under general rather than specific instruction.


This position pays $18.22 per hour or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the University of Maine System.

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM.


This job that will have you performing a variety of tasks and switching task often which keeps the work exciting and varied throughout the school year and summer months.


Responsibilities may include:


  • Selling Fitness Center memberships
  • Coordinating team travel (buses, hotels, meal money)
  • Arranging Break Meals for studentathletes
  • Game Official Contracts and Payment
  • Processing deposits & bringing them to business office
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Husky Wear Sales
  • Fitness Center Website Management
  • Extensive use of computers, including Apple Mac computers

Qualifications:

Required:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and sufficient experience, including two years administrative support experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
