Summary

The Accounting Specialist will support the The Little Nell Hotel Accounting Manager and Supervisor in all aspects of hospitality accounting.

Particular emphasis will be placed on clerical duties.

Essential Job Functions

File all incoming paperwork in a consistent and timely manner
Provide account information and billing details to ASPENX Mountain Club members
Construct and maintain digital records of event contracts and ASPENX Mountain Club membership accounts
Assist Accounting Supervisor with group billing tasks as assigned
Assist Accounting Manager with end-of-month tasks as assigned
Oversee cashiering functions, maintain the Hotel's cash recycler machine and audit its contents daily, and complete cashiering reconciliations
Appeal and rebut incoming credit card chargebacks
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

HS degree required and Bachelor's degree preferred
1 year experience in accounting field preferred
Knowledge of hotel property management software, point of sale systems, JDE, Excel, and other hotel applications is helpful but not required
Experience as a hotel front desk agent, restaurant server or bartender, or retail cashier is helpful
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of Spanish is preferred but not required.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Received:
Works under general supervision of The Little Nell Accounting Supervisor with consistent oversight from the TLN Accounting Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
