SUMMARY:
- Perform a variety of technical and investigative duties contributing to the maintenance of quality throughout the plant, including assisting Quality Engineers and supporting customers' orders preproduction and postproduction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Assists the Quality Engineers in the preparation of Quality Work Instructions for the castings produced by the plant which detail the characteristics to be inspected and the methods and AQL levels to be used for the operations.
- Reviews customer part drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc. during the preparation of the work instructions to assure that all required inspection operations are specified.
- Acts as designated supplier quality representative for customers involved in Source Release Programs.
- Submit qualification packages to customers for approval including inspection plans, routers, xray techniques, weld procedures and other data that may be required.
- Maintains the Quality Documents on a current basis by reviewing all customer changes and by updating the documents as necessary, to comply with any new requirements.
- Initiates requests for disposition of nonconforming material through use of customer MRB forms and procedures.
- Assists in reviewing, filing and listing of specifications, quality clauses and terms and conditions.
- Assists in the investigation of customer complaints and in the determination of action to be taken to correct any problems. Also assists in the preparation of the responses to the customers as a result of the investigation, and the actions taken.
- Works closely with customers' quality representatives., and may assist in formal presentations to customer quality representatives. As directed by the Quality Manager, review customer quality ratings and make recommendations for general and/or specific corrective action; follow up on exceptions to maintain accurate ratings.
- Communicate with customers as directed by the Quality Control Manager to clarify quality standards, to request deviations and to obtain various other information that may be required.
- Performs Non-Conforming Material Review paperwork and Material Review Board activities, writes Customer Tags and completes Customer Surveys.
- Performs audits, investigations, general clerical tasks such as data entry, report preparation, filing, and other related duties as assigned by Quality Engineers or Quality Manager.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Meet established attendance standards.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Must report any workrelated injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Good in mathematics.
- Ability to read blueprints and to understand specifications.
- Know how to use standard measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, electronic calculator etc.
- At least 1year of related work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear.
