Description
Logistics Specialist for Grosse Pointe

Managing Incoming Goods: As a logistics specialist, you will be responsible for receiving new goods - this also means helping to unload them, for example from shipping containers or trucks. It is important to check the goods against the delivery note and monitor the entire process. If the type and quantity of goods are correct, they will be stored. To ensure that the products can be quickly located in the warehouse when needed, they are stored together with their specific storage location (numbered) in the computer system.

Conducting Inventory Control: It is important for warehouse operations that inventory is regularly maintained. This includes checking the storage locations: Are the goods properly sorted? Is there enough stock available? For perishable goods, it is also important to sort them according to their expiration date. All of this is part of inventory control.

Managing Outgoing Goods: Logistics specialists pick, pack, load, and ship the ordered goods. Each step builds on the previous one.

Determining Delivery Routes: Whether by freight train, truck, or ship - the specific delivery route must be determined very precisely in terms of distance and transport time.

Placing Orders: Is another shelf almost empty? This can be seen either during a warehouse tour or with the help of a computer
