General Purpose:

This position will be responsible for keeping the common areas and the general outside premises neat, clean, and orderly at all times.

Essential Functions:

Daily Sanitation

• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot clean floors
• Collect trash from all offices, cubicles and common areas
• Keep all restrooms stocked with supplies
• Sanitize restroom areas by disinfecting toilets, sinks, and countertops
• Clean windows, inside of building only
• Clean break room and kitchen areas continuously between breaks, including dumping trash, mop floors, and restore supplies
• Dust all baseboards
• Maintain conference rooms clean
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and water coolers
• Plus other duties as assigned

Periodic Housekeeping Duties

• Carpet cleaning
• Floor stripping
• Floor waxing
• Light maintenance ( painting, change light bulbs, minor facility repair)
• Notify Distribution mgmt. or Administrative Manager when trash, or cardboard compactors, are full and in need of a pickup

Safety/Security/Maintenance

• Report and remove safety hazards
• Understand and follow procedures to handle and store chemicals properly
• Identify and report the need for major repairs to management
• Assist in helping monitor building security and safety (locker doors and scissor gates)
• Identify and report blocked fire extinguishers and exits

Grounds Keeping

• Maintain general outside premises by picking up trash and emptying outside trash containers

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

• General knowledge of housekeeping.
• Keen sense of observation and meticulous work ethic. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Must have a current Texas Driver License and must be able to pass a preemployment background check.
• Ability to run power equipment (sweeper, slow speed buffer, high speed buffer, carpet cleaning equipment).
• Ability and willingness to work indoors & outdoors in varying degrees of temperatures and weather conditions.
