Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Compensation Analyst will perform a variety of responsible professional, technical and analytical classification and compensation activities related to the maintenance of the organization's compensation system.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for ensuring position descriptions are appropriately reviewed and up to date.
  • Performs job evaluations and market analysis for positions within the organization.
  • Assists recruitment team with verifying relevant experience and determining appropriate salary offers.
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources Director, makes recommendations as appropriate for manager requests for position classification and compensation placement.
  • Conduct market reviews by analyzing data received from external market surveys to evaluate company pay position and assist with plans for pay structure changes.
  • Provides guidance and expert interpretation of pay practices to leadership.
  • Reviews HR policies and procedures related to compensation and certification practices, recommending changes as needed to ensure compliance with laws and rules and best practices.
  • Participate in compensation surveys by identifying appropriate job matches and calculating compensation data.
  • Obtain results from compensation surveys and communicate to team regarding results.
  • Participates in employee appeal requests and makes recommendations as appropriate for classification and compensation placement (internal equity).
  • Track compensation survey submission and receipt. Monitor survey budget to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner and that the department is within budget.
  • Administer general compensation adjustments. Insures timeliness and accuracy of data and communication.
  • Ensure proper approval, communication, and implementation of payments.
  • Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with organization pay practices.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to enhance transparency and accuracy of compensation decisions.
  • Stays abreast of current environmental trends, legislation, and best practices in the field of HR.
  • Perform routine audits of employee, position and job information in employee database and correct as appropriate to ensure the integrity of the information.
  • Work with payroll, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, HRIS and Information Systems to implement, process and communicate pay changes. Audits process to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide data and analysis as requested by Human Resources Director.
  • Conduct research to support changes to existing programs or implement new programs based on industry best practice.
  • Perform other projectrelated work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Must be detail orientated with strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of and ability to use computer software to include Microsoft Office suite.
  • Moderate to Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to work with numerical calculations and organize data in a meaningful way
  • Ability to logically organize details
  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work
  • Comfortable accepting responsibility for small to medium projects involving multiple resources and spanning many months from start to finish
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or
  • Four (4) years of experience in lieu of education
  • Experienced working with compensation programs
