The Interim Head of School, Early Learning Center (HOS-ELC) will work with the Director of Early Learning and the Chief Academic Officer to develop and implement the academic, social, and cultural life of the school.
rr rCommunity Day Charter Public School (CDCPS) seeks an Interim Head of School with an outstanding academic background to work with our school teams, which are renowned for closing the achievement gap.
CDCPS manages multiple campuses across Lawrence, MA, and serves 1,200 pre-kindergarten to 8th-grade students.We believe in providing our students with a rigorous student-centered academic program while investing in their social, emotional, and holistic well-being.
CDCPS has dedicated teams to support our teachers, ensuring our students' success.r r r Responsibilities (included but not limited to): r r Works with the Director of Early Learning and the Chief Academic Officer to develop and implement the academic, social, and cultural life of the school.rManages grade-level teams.rSupervises school staff and teachers.rCollaborates on the hiring of staff and teachers.rSupport the implementation of research-based instructional practices and assessment strategies to improve student outcomes.rProvide instructional coaching, feedback, and support to teachers to enhance their instructional effectiveness and professional growth.rDevelops and supports a standards-based curriculum that results in high academic achievement in language and math literacy.rUtilizes a system of assessment that incorporates information into effective action planning for all grades and sections in the school.rCollaborates on the development and implementation of school policies.rSupervises the position of operations manager in supporting all school operations (including physical plant).rSupports the parent program that builds positive parent-school partnerships.rCollaborates and implements school-related line items on the school budget.
rCollaborates with other HOS to convene and support parent advisory board; andrAll other duties as assigned by your r Qualifications:r r A passionate belief in CDCPS' mission, values, and educational model.rMaster's Degree preferred; Bachelor's Degree Required.rSeasoned supervisor and accomplished manager with a background in education, a perspective, and a vision for quality education.
Driven to set and achieve ambitious, challenging, and tangible goals.rExperience working with school-aged children in a Pre-K to 1st grade setting preferred rA willingness to pursue continuous improvement and refinement as well as success.rDemonstrated skills in collaborative planning and problem-solving.rAn ability to lead by example and offer a strong, accessible presence while building a positive culture.rDeep understanding of standards-based curriculum and assessment and proven track record of achievement related to student and teacher success.rDemonstrated skills in the use of data to inform instruction to promote instructional access and curriculum planning for high-quality special education instruction.rExcellent written and oral communication r r r r *Community Day Charter Public School participates in the E-Verify program to determine the immigration and work-eligibility status of prospective employees.
