PART-TIME PRESCHOOL AIDE

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
Incumbents are responsible for direct care of participants in the preschool and summer camp programs. Assists in the coordination and carrying out of day-to-day preschool or summer camp activities, depending on time of year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides supervision of bathroom breaks and ensures safety of preschoolers or summer camp participants, depending on time of year.
Monitors preschool activities and helps enforce classroom behavior and related rules.
Maintains and organizes work area and work supplies.
Assists with art projects.
Prepares and distributes snacks.
Assistance with forms completion by providing routine information to customers, as needed.
Working with youth and adults to provide assigned program services.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Assists in the coordination and carrying out of day-to-day preschool or summer camp activities, depending on time of year.
Dependable and prompt attendance. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City staff and the public. Work safely.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PART-TIME PRESCHOOL AIDE
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in early childhood education preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a year round part-time position (up to 19 hours per week).
During the months of August through May, the preschool aide will assist with classroom duties and projects related to school year activities.
During the months of June and July, the preschool aide will assist with summer camp activities.Workdays and hours:
AM Aide Schedule
Monday: 7:45am - 11:45am
Tuesday: 7:45am - 11:45am
Wednesday: 7:45am - 11:45am
Thursday: 7:45am - 11:45am
Friday: 7:45am - 10:45am
PM Aide Schedule
Monday: 11:30am - 3:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am - 12:30pm
Wednesday: 11:30am - 3:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am - 12:30pm
Friday: 11:30am - 3:30pm
