- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred but not required
- Enrolled Agent Designation or CPA required
- Experience as a tax preparer in an Accounting firm of 3 years or more
- In-depth knowledge of federal tax laws, regulations and accounting principles
- Demonstrated experience in state and local tax preparation
- Proficiency in Drake or other tax Software and QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel
- Strong technical skills and ability to research tax issues
- Detail oriented, well-organized with strong communication skills
- Thrives in High-Pressure environment. High stress tolerance
- Strong team player attitude in helping co-workers succeed.
- Results-oriented with a high level of integrity
- Ability to multitask, strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
- Fluent in English is a must.
- A desire to advance In Public Accounting
- Prepare complex corporate tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065), ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws
- Prepare Non-Profit tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws
- Prepare and/or review Trust tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws
- Review financials to guarantee accuracy before proceeding with tax preparation
- Prepare and/or review individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local tax laws
- Resolve IRS/State tax notices in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Assist in tax planning and
- Training and mentoring of staff
- Work independently, with minimal supervision
- Help to improve the company's workflow by using the software and technologies available in a proficient manner
