Join our team at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The Harris Center") as a
Crisis Line
Licensed Therapist (LPHA).

The Crisis Line LPHA provides clinical oversight to callers of the Crisis Line by monitoring and creating treatment plans for those that need it.

This position provides training and coaching on how to provide appropriate care to callers.

The Crisis Line LPHA focuses primarily on monitoring calls, specifically callers who call frequently and creates caller profiles/treatment plans for these calls.

This position works with callers and their treatment teams to create the best plan to serve the caller within the scope of Crisis Line work.


Your role in action:


  • Monitors calls for frequent/known callers and develops a caller profile/treatment plan when it would benefit the Crisis Line help manage and support the frequent/known caller better or minimize abuse to Crisis Line Counselors.
  • Collaborates with caller and their treatment team, if there is one, in developing an appropriate treatment plan, when possible.
  • Assists in training and coaching the Crisis Line team in the call handling of known callers including abusive callers.
  • Collaborates with Crisis Line supervisory team and provides clinical expertise to clinical situations.
  • Assists with SOD duties and with answering calls as needed.
  • Facilitates a positive and productive work atmosphere through modeling a learning environment as well as successful professional behavior and promoting continuous interdisciplinary interaction and problem solving.
  • Models customer driven values based on consumer needs, priorities, and choices within the resources available.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct in all clinical and professional activities.
  • Completes standard Crisis Line Training as needed.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, accrediting/regulatory bodies and performance contract documentation requirements.
  • Performs related work as assigned. Adapts to changing work requirements.

What qualifications you will need:


_ Education_:


  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent in the field of Psychology or Social Work.

_ Other Key Qualifications_

  • Current clinical licensure/ credentials in the State of Texas (LPC or LCSW or LMFT).

Experience:


  • 3 years of experience working in a mental health setting
  • Crisis Line experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

_ Knowledge/Skills & Ability:
_


  • Must have knowledge of Houston and Harris County crisis and mental health outpatient services options.
  • Must have basic knowledge of principles of the development, implementation and documentation of individualized care and treatment for a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Maintains current licensure/credentials with appropriate state licensure regulatory board.
  • Ability to create treatment plans and effectively train others.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively converse and listen to others and construct clear and concise written communication.
  • Able to identify and offer solutions to resolve problems, using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to utilize basic Word and Excel documents.
  • Ability to sort through large amounts of data sets and look for trends
