We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Associate to join our team in Brooklyn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their HR skills within a unique and vibrant company.

The Human Resources Associate reports to the Director of Human Resources and will provide support for Human Resources initiatives including payroll, recruitment, benefits administration, safety, and compliance.

They will act as a primary point of contact for EverGreene employees seeking assistance, addressing employee inquiries promptly with accurate information and guidance, and ensure compliance with EverGreene policies and labor laws.

This role is based in our Brooklyn offices but is eligible for occasional work-from-home.


Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with keeping EverGreene compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in payroll/union audits ensuring that required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assisting the Payroll Supervisor with certified payroll reporting
  • Processing Verification of Employment requests, Income Withholding Orders/ Child Support Orders
  • When needed, manage employee background checks, drug tests, driver authorizations, safety certifications.
  • Manage Employee Incident Reporting, Workers Compensation Claims, OSHA Reporting, etc.
  • Assist with EverGreene's annual calibration performance review programs.
  • Assisting with the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, and documentation.
  • Assisting in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Support development and maintenance of internal programs focused on workforce retention and engagement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 2 years HR Administration/HR Operations/HR Shared Services experience.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy with strong follow through.
  • Flawless written and oral communication with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Aptitude in problemsolving, critical thinking and time management.
  • Exceptional technology skills and ability to quickly learn new systems and software. Must be knowledgeable in MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Paycor, Paycom, BambooHR etc.) will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment/labor laws a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR concepts and Employment laws and regulations a plus.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, and Payroll.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • A creative mindset and outgoing personality.
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is strongly preferred.
