- High school education or GED.
- Previous experience with hospital or medical office helpful.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
- Computer skills required.
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt and courteous and helpful manner.
- Maintains and updates patient's personal information which includes address, phone, PCP, emergency numbers and verification of insurance each time patient comes into office. Assist patients with ambulatory needs.
- Obtains necessary signature on permits and forms.
- Schedule follow up appointment when necessary.
- Report problems or irregularities to supervisor.
- Take messages and provides patient with information.
- Check patient eligibility in advance of appointment and notify patient of any irregularities.
- Assist patients with use of self-check in kiosk.
- Maintain work area and lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attends required meetings.
- Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA guidelines.
